Beach Weekend

Miles and Matthew have been very sick with a combination of bronchitis and flu. They were out of school almost all of last week. But, thank Goodness they are finally feeling better. (...and back in school!)

Jim had the weekend off, so we headed south for a little beach time. You know that the ocean breeze is good for all that ails you. LOL

We really did enjoy some R & R. It was nice to just play and enjoy the kids. Mia Grace LOVED the beach. Of course, it was too cold to get in the water, but the sand was nice and warm.

It was a little windy and cool, but that just made more time for Rummy, Uno, Speed, Spoons, and more...

Ben's favorite is the peanut butter chocolate chip pie with oreo cookie crust from the Oyster House in Gulf Shores. He requested this rather than a Birthday cake. So, here he is just before diving in. Yum!! We were all too full after eating, so we just bought him the whole pie and brought it home. I think you could say that he enjoyed it!

Great pix, Sam! We keep thinking that we are going to have to find a way to get Li to beach... trouble is, that's WAY farther for us than for you. Give Ben a belated birthday hug from all of us, as well. MG looks great!

Oh Sam, we'll meet you at the beach ANY day and play Uno! Just let us know the time, place, and day and we'll bring the game, and you can bring the pie (better get two...)! Happy Birthday! Happy Gettin' Better, and Happy Day for Sand Castles!
