Gotcha Day Anniversary

On Monday, March 16th, we will celebrate the one year anniversary of Mia Grace's Gotcha Day!! We were waiting in a hotel meeting room and we heard the babies coming. It took the guides, the orphanage reps, and all the bellmen to bring the babies upstairs. The moment that Mia Grace was visible in the doorway, we were changed forever. She was so brave and didn't even cry.

The guides called our names, checked her name badge (clipped on the back of her jacket), and handed her over to Jim. A solemn little girl in a yellow puffy suit and Disney pajamas...complete with little boy red tennis shoes...was in the blink of an eye, our forever daughter. She studied us carefully and reached up to touch Jim on the cheek. It was a precious moment!!

We were soon dismissed to go to our rooms and get to know our girls.

One hour after she was handed over to us, she laughed out loud while playing with Ben. Oh, what a sweet sound that was!!

Since that moment, we have seen Mia make huge strides. She is a different child. And today, we tried on her yellow puffy suit. It still fits!

The Lord has blessed us in so many ways and we are very, very grateful. She is such a joy! (Runny nose and all!)

We will be gone this week on a little Spring Break trip. So, enjoy your week! We will be back soon with some awesome pictures.
